Urban Planning and Environment

The Urban Planning and Environment Department oversees the planning and management of the territory so as to ensure consistent development. This department plans development in consultation with citizens, promoters and developers. The master development plan provides the main guidelines for the development of the territory. These guidelines are then translated into by-laws to ensure the equitable handling of requests from citizens. The by-laws are applied through applications for permits and by urban planning and environment inspectors.
