Animal control services
As of January 1st, 2021, please contact Anitek at 819 431-9904 for assistance with any animal control situation within the territory.
The contract with Société pour la Prévention de la Cruauté aux Animaux de l’Outaouais (SPCA) expired on December 31, 2020. Given the important issues surrounding animal control, the Municipality wanted to improve this service. Thus, the municipality mandated Anitek to provide the following services to the citizens of La Pêche for the years 2021 to 2023:
Dog licenses Within the Municipality, it is prohibited to keep a dog without obtaining a dog license. Dog licences are now available from Anitek, the Municipality’s animal control provider. They can be obtained from the municipal office by calling 819-456-2161, at the Anitek offices, located at 370 Chemin Clark, near Edelweiss, or by filling out the form atwww.anitek.ca. We suggest calling the location nearest you. The Municipality of La Pêche also sends licences via Canada Post at no extra charge. They cost $40 for the first calendar year and $35 for each subsequent year.
Regulatory Compliance According to bylaw 13-RM-02, dogs can be off the leash only when on their owner’s property. Outside of these locations, dog owners must always keep their pets leashed or otherwise maintain direct control of them and monitor them at all times. Unleashed dogs are not considered to be under their owners’ control. To file a complaint regarding this bylaw, please fill out the form at anitek.ca or call 819-431-9904. Claude Lachaine is head of Anitek and the Municipality’s regulatory compliance officer. |
