Flashing Green Lights

The MRC des Collines-de-l'Outouais has been chosen, along with the MRC de Bécancour, to participate in a pilot project that will be carried out over a period of three years to assess whether the use of flashing green lights can improve the response time of the voluntary part-time firefighters responding to an emergency call.

The Fire Department of the Municipality participates in this pilot project that aims at:

• Identifying firefighters responding to emergency calls or fire stations,
• Requesting courtesy on the road,
• Reducing the travel time.

The flashing green light is used as a courtesy to let other road-users know that firefighters are responding to an emergency call and invite people to yield the way.
