FIRE PREVENTION WEEK DRAWING CONTEST

During the Fire Prevention Week that ran from October 9 to October 15, 2017, the La Pêche Fire Department organized a drawing contest with two La Pêche elementary schools: Au-Cœur-des-Collines School and Wakefield Elementary School. The students were asked to draw an evacuation plan for their home in the event a fire broke out. The winners of the contest were given a choice between two prizes: a bicycle, or two family passes for snow tubing at the Edelweiss ski resort.

The award ceremony took place on Thursday, November 17, and it is with great pleasure that the La Pêche Fire Department presents you its two winners:

For Au-Cœur-des-Collines school, the winner is Mia Vaillant, a 4 years old  girl, who chose the bicycle. Congratulations, Mia!

For Wakefield School, the winner is Sofia Farias Campeau, a 5 year old girl who also chose the bicycle. Way to go, Sofia!

FIRE PREVENTION DAY: AWARD OF AN APPRECIATION CERTIFICATE

The La Pêche Fire Prevention Department has awarded a certificate of appreciation to the owner of the Giant Tiger Store, Mr. Luc Bourdeau, for his participation to the Fire Prevention Day on October 21. The Fire Prevention Day events took place in the parking lot of the Giant Tiger store, and participating kids were treated to some free hot dogs and juices, donated by Giant Tiger.

The Fire Prevention Department held various activities that day: demonstrations of fire trucks and fire equipment and how to use fire extinguishers, and a spectacular demonstration of what happens when one tries to put out an oil fire with water, among other things.

The La Pêche Fire Prevention Department wishes to thank Mr. Bourdeau for his great cooperation.
