  • Valentine Soirée

    The Regroupement des Bons Vivants invites its members to a valentine's evening on Saturday, February 8 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Note: for FADOQ members only.
  • “Sugar Shack” meal
    Saturday, February 15 
    Don’t miss out on this “sugar shack” treat on Saturday, February 15! Meals will be served from noon to 6:30 p.m. and proceeds go to the East-Aldfield Hunting and Fishing Club. Tickets: $17 (members) and $20 (non-members), available at the P'tit Magasin Général in East-Aldfield (819 456-2781) or call Réjean (Jason) at 819 456-3072 for reservations.

Winter Activities - Rupert Community Centre (24, Chemin Shouldice)

  • Free skating anytime; the canteen is open on Wednesdays, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays, 12 noon to 6 p.m.
    This activity is generously supported by the Municipality of La Pêche.
  • Rupert Winter Carnival
    February 7 and 8 
    Admission is free. Join us for the Friday night roast beef dinner at 7 p.m. and Saturday breakfast. There will be a hockey tournament, games, sleigh rides, a baking contest and more, including fireworks at 7 p.m. Watch for details in the Low Down or on Facebook, f@RupertCommunityCentre.

  • Fairbairn House Heritage Centre  
    Annual Heritage Day Talk
    Heritage Successes in Rural Areas
    Presented by Robert Pajot, Regeneration Project Leader (National Trust for Canada).
    Rob will share stories on how rural communities have come together to revitalize the heritage places that matter to them.

  • International Women’s Day
    Sunday, March 8,from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    The Wakefield Grannies invite you to join them on Sunday, March 8, International Women’s Day, at Centre Wakefield La Pêche from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a concert featuring wonderfully talented women, snacks and a silent auction of delicious culinary creations made by our marvellous men. Tickets are $15 and available at the door, Molo's or the Jamboree. All proceeds go to grandmothers raising orphaned grandchildren in South Africa.   • Volunteers needed for the boutique at the Wakefield hospital
    Boutique Santé at the Wakefield Memorial Hospital is looking for volunteers to help maintain its day, evening and weekend schedules. The Boutique is run by volunteers and proceeds go to the Collines Health Foundation. If you are interested and you can spare a few hours per month for a good cause, call Pamela Scobie at 819 459-1252.

  • Sentiers Wakefield Trails Annual General Meeting
    Saturday, April 18, 5 p.m.
    The AGM will take place on Saturday, April 18 at the Wakefield La Pêche community centre, beginning at 5 p.m., right after Earth Day celebrations. Come find out what we have been up to and what we are planning for 2020. Have a look at our website at sentierswakefieldtrails.ca and see what we are doing. You will find our podcasts there, where neighbours and friends will tell you what they like about our trails. See you on April 18.
