Are you interested in tackling the issue of housing and living accommodations in the Collines-de-l’Outaouais territory?   • Volunteers needed for the boutique at the Wakefield hospital
Boutique Santé at the Wakefield Memorial Hospital is looking for volunteers to help maintain its day, evening and weekend schedules. The Boutique is run by volunteers and the proceeds go to the Collines Health Foundation. If you are interested and you can spare a few hours per month for a good cause, call Pamela Scobie at 819 360-5326.

  • Annual general meeting
    Centre Wakefield La Pêche

The annual general meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 5 at 7 p.m. in the Gwen Shea hall at the community centre.

  • Learn How to Play Pickleball

Where: Centre Wakefield La Pêche, at the rink

  • The Wakefield Market

The Wakefield Market is back for another season of bringing together the best local food and crafts from the Outaouais, beginning on May 15. But our usual home, Centre Wakefield La Pêche, is being used for vaccinations, so for 2021 we've found a temporary home at Ski Vorlage, located at 65, Chemin Burnside (corner of Burnside and Elmdale, across from the ski hills) in Wakefield. We ask that you access the site from Elmdale, or by Burnside via Highway 105. Free parking will be available at Ski Vorlage. See you there on May 15, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and every Saturday until October 16. Come one, come all!

    Welcome to Lac-des-LoupsLibrary

    Your Réseau BIBLIO de l'Outaouais membership card gives you free access to the reading club, several museums, movies, audiobooks and many new books. Various activities have also been planned for this fall.

    • October 16: Halloween decoration workshop
    • December 11: Christmas decoration workshop.

    The workshops will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and all necessary materials will be provided by the library. We look forward to seeing you, in accordance with social distancing and public health orders of course.

    Did you know? This year, we are celebrating 30 years of service to the community! Also, we have added on two new services: a crisis line for persons in distress due to an anxiety disorder and anxiety self-care workshops.

    We are now accepting orders for docks, elevated garden boxes, picnic tables and other projects.     Waterways, Railways & Roadways: Transportation in the Gatineau Valley
    This exhibition highlights the human, animal and mechanical power that was used over the centuries to transport people and goods throughout the Gatineau valley.

    Where are the Children? Healing the Impacts of Residential Schools
    This exhibition, the first in Canada to be developed on residential schools, spans over 125 years of photographs and text panels to tell the story of more than seven generations of the Indigenous people of Canada.

    • Subsidized Housing in La Pêche

    L’office d’habitation de l’Outaouais offers subsidized housing in La Pêche to low-income families and seniors (55 and over).

    To qualify, you must meet eligibility requirements as stipulated in the Regulation respecting the allocation of low-rental housing. Rental fees are set in accordance with household revenue and amount to 25% of gross revenue.

    Take notice that you may cancel a current lease in order to rent low-income housing.
