One million dollars in financial assistance announced for the Municipality of La Pêche's new town hall
June 21, 2022

The Government of Québec announced $1 million in financial assistance to the Municipality of La Pêche for its project to build a new solid wood town hall. The announcement was made today by Mr. Robert Bussière, MNA for Gatineau, on behalf of Mr. Pierre Dufour, Minister of Forests, Wildlife and Parks and Minister responsible for the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region and the Nord-du-Québec region. The grant is allocated under the Programme d'innovation en construction bois (PICB) of the Ministère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs.

"With the government's support, our municipality is getting a new city hall that meets the Passivhaus standard with very low energy consumption and is built entirely of wood. In addition to providing a healthy and professional work environment for our staff, the new building will include a multi-purpose room that will allow us to receive citizens during council meetings or special events. On behalf of the Municipal Council and the population of La Pêche, I thank the Quebec government and our MNA Robert Bussière for their support."
