Earlier this week, the Government Operations Center (GOC) forecasted minor flood risks in about 72 hours, if weather conditions remain as expected. The Municipality is taking the necessary measures according to its emergency plan for the different needs on the territory. Therefore:

  • a meeting is scheduled this afternoon with the Public Security of the MRC des Collines to coordinate efforts, if required,
  • sandbagging operations are underway at the Wakefield fire station,
  • prevention and monitoring visits to the most at-risk sites are underway throughout the municipality,
  • suppliers of granular materials will be available on call,
  • Barricades and other site, taxiway and bridge control equipment will be placed in certain areas of the territory for rapid deployment,
  • public works and fire department staff are ready and available to intervene on call,
  • members of the municipal council are informed and have emergency communication facilities for their respective sector.

Regular updates will be made to inform citizens.

In case of emergency, citizens are invited to call 911 or to contact the municipal office at any time (day-night) at 819-456-2161.
